Each year, the Power of Age Expo features many special themed areas to delight and inform attendees on an array of topics. The following special features include the very best in resources, products and entertainment for the Power of Age Expo's celebration. The feature areas address all aspects of aging.


North Hall

Discover what Giant pharmacists and nutritionists think you need to know to reach your best health. Throughout the day, experts will be available for one-on-one counseling and group presentations on important topics. Register for Hello Fresh, get food giveaways and more in this interactive and engaging area.

Assistive Device Display

North Hall

Open the door of possibility by visiting our special exhibit of assistive devices. Be empowered by learning about all of the options available to you whether you are facing a challenge with sight, hearing, mobility, etc. Try the equipment and attend educational talks about recent advancements. Exhibitors in this area include:

  • Mobility Independent Transportation Systems (MITS) Corporation
  • Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped

North Hall

The Kiosk for Living Well is like a Health Center without walls. It promotes health and wellness and give consumers the opportunity to engage with old and new friends while learning ways to better manage their own health with the guidance of an onsite advisor. Stop by and give the kiosk a try!

Senior Centers

South Hall–Booth 3007

Enhance and maximize your ability to Discover the Power of Age by visiting the Senior Centers area at this year’s Expo. Step into a world of fun highlighting the activities, comradery, travel, fitness, nutrition programs and much more when you visit this energetic spot located in the South Hall. Just look for the gold balloons!

BCDA and Senior Centers are celebrating 40 years with never-ending fun and activities each and every day.

Never been to a Senior Center? Unsure of where they are located or what is offered? This area is a great place to learn about all 20 of the Senior Centers located in Baltimore County and what each one has to offer.

Play a game and win a prize at the Center Connection table while learning of this program’s important purpose in our Senior Centers.

Stop by the Fitness table for a free blood pressure check or body fat composition screening, learn easy functional exercises and find out how to start your fitness regime quickly and affordably. You can also learn about the delicious and extensive nutrition program offered at 35 sites around the county and find out how easy it is to receive a nutritious meal while Eating Together with friends!

Don’t forget to cast your ballot at the hugely popular Art Show, which showcases the various talents, classes and mediums that our Senior Center art programs have to offer.

Keep hearing of pickleball and have no clue what it is? Stop by and try your hand at this growing sport, which will be demonstrated throughout both days of Expo. Pictures, videos and more will be portrayed on a slideshow so you can see firsthand what to expect when you walk into a Baltimore County Senior Center. Members from many of the Senior Centers will also be on hand to answer your questions. You will be glad you stopped by!

Baltimore County Public Library Technology

North Hall–Booth 2006

The Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) feature area will provide attendees with an awareness of everything the library system now offers. There will be training seminars on how to use and check out the wonderful equipment on loan, as well as sessions on how to use the BCPL databases for job searches and research.

Greater Baltimore Medical Center

North Hall–Booth 2000

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) Healthcare has a long history of partnership with the Baltimore County Department of Aging and is once again proud to sponsor and participate in the Discover the Power of Age Expo this year. Be sure to stop by GBMC’s booth located in the North Hall at this year’s Expo where you will also have an opportunity to personally interact with GBMC’s healthcare staff onsite and pick up a wide range of health information and tips, including a list of our primary care physicians who specialize in caring for older adults, details about specialists and healthy lifestyle suggestions.

Senior Craft Gallery

South Hall–Booth 3002

Senior Craft Gallery is a volunteer organization that operates a wonderful store of handcrafted items for sale. The store gives older adults an opportunity to sell their crafts for extra money to help make ends meet. The items for sale make extremely unique gifts or special treats, and range from doll clothes to wood carving to Ravens and Orioles jewelry and more. Come find that handmade treasure at a reasonable price.
